Canadian Football League Grey Cup Championship Trophy to be Temporarily on Display at Hall

The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Mission includes celebrating excellence EVERYWHERE and is inviting sports fans to see the Canadian Football League’s Grey Cup Championship Trophy. Fans can view the iconic trophy on Wednesday, Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hall of Fame.

The Grey Cup is the name of the Canadian Football League championship game and the trophy awarded to the victorious team. In 1909, the trophy was commissioned by the then Canadian governor general Earl Grey, thus where it got its name. Unlike the Vince Lombardi Trophy awarded to the team who wins the Super Bowl, a new Grey Cup Championship Trophy is not made each year and the winning teams, players and executives are engraved into the trophy.

The viewing and photo op with the Grey Cup is included with the price of Museum admission. Fans interested in visiting the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Wednesday to see the Grey Cup can go to www.profootballhof.com/visit/ to plan their trip to “The Most Inspiring Place on Earth!”
