Son of Gold Jacket Emmitt Smith Receives Scholarship Offer
Ohio State is taking advantage of its Cotton Bowl location this week when it comes to its continued recruitment of Texas prospects. The Buckeyes offered the son of a Dallas Cowboys legend on Thursday.
EJ Smith, a 2020 running back from Dallas Jesuit and son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith, posted on Twitter on Thursday that he received an offer from Ohio State, his first from a Big Ten program.
According to 247Sports, the 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect also holds offers from Georgia, Kentucky, SMU, and a handful of other programs. He's not yet rated in the 247Sports composite ratings.
Ohio State sports information included in its daily notes from Thursday's Cotton Bowl practice that Emmitt Smith stopped by AT&T Stadium and visited with Urban Meyer. Smith played his college ball at Florida, where Meyer coached from 2005-10.
