Basketball Star Bud Grant
Bud Grant is known for coaching on the sideline, but the Gold Jacket was also an incredible athlete. Grant played football, baseball and basketball during his time at the University of Minnesota. He was drafted in the NFL by the Philadelphia Eagles and the Minneapolis Lakers, a now a defunct NBA team. Grant decided to continue his athletic career playing for the Lakers before he took over as head coach for the Minnesota Vikings.
He played in a total of 96 games for two seasons spanning from 1949-1951 and averaged 2.6 points during his career. He also helped the franchise win a NBA Championship.
Bobby Beathard Donates Artifacts to Hall of Fame
