Last Sunday, Dolphins running back Frank Gore had his best game of the season in their 31-28 win over the Bears.

Gore rushed for 101 yards on 15 carries as he consistently wore down the Bears defense all day. After the game, Gore received a text message from a Pro Football Hall of Fame member.

“When my boy Marshall Faulk gets back in town, when he texts me that I still look good, I just ask him what he thinks I should continue to be doing and things like that,” Gore said on Thursday when asked does he get advice from older players.

Gore said it means a lot a player of Faulk’s caliber would give him advice.

“It’s big,” Gore said. “A guy like that and a guy who I respect and who killed it when he was playing. He killed it. We always talk during the season, even offseason. I just tell him to be real with me, and he said I still can play.”

At age 35, Gore has been playing well for the Dolphins as he was just thought to be a compliment to Kenyan Drake when he was signed during the offseason. In six games, Gore leads the Dolphins in rushing as he has 303 on 62 carries.

Despite his age, Gore said he wants to keep playing, but he doesn’t want to get ahead of himself.

“I take it one game at a time, one year at a time,” Gore said. “There’s a lot of games left in this season. I’m not even thinking about that right now. Right now, I’m trying to get ready for Sunday and try to get a win on Sunday against Detroit.”
