OHSAA Lineup Set Kicks Off with Massillon-Hoban Thursday Night 8pm
One of the nation’s top high school football championships is the Ohio High State Athletic Association Championships, played for the second year in a row at Johnson Controls Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. Seven Championship Games, starting Thursday night at 8pm, undefeated Massillon taking on undefeated Archbishop Hoban for the Division II title.
The Massillon Tigers are looking to cement its reputation in the high school history books. It is one of the winningest high school programs in the country, it’s standard of excellence started with their coach in the 40’s, the legendary Paul Brown. Just 8 miles from Canton, the Tigers will have a distinct home field advantage. But Hoban is bringing its own great tradition, aiming to win its 4th straight title. Friday’s triple header in equally star studded. First the Division VI title tilt undefeated Kirkland taking on Marion Stein Marion Local at 13-1 at 10am. Then at 3pm, Division III Kenston faces Archbishop Alter.
The marquee matchup is Cleveland St Edward’s, who has won three titles since 2010, facing Cincinnati Colerain, Friday night at 8pm. St Ed’s has won three state titles since 2010.
Saturday starts with the Division VII title tilt, Glouster Trimble vs McComb at 10am, followed by Division V championship at 3pm with Johnston-Monroe taking on Orville. The finales at 8pm is undefeated Cincinnati Wyoming vs Girard.
All games will be on Spectrum and HOF Productions will produce the Scoreboard feed for the games, pregame and halftime.
