CA Star Chosen To Play In Inaugural Pro Football Hall Of Fame World Bowl

Cheshire Academy senior Jared Martino has been selected among 70 high-school players to compete in the inaugural Pro Football Hall of Fame World Bowl to be held on Dec. 22 at Azul Stadium in Mexico City. This game will represent the first time that U.S. prep football all-stars will play outside the country.

A six foot and 220-pound running back/quarterback from Malden, Massachusetts, Martino is coming off a stellar fall season in which he became the first CA player to receive All-New England Class A Player of the Year. As a runner, Martino led the Cats in yards (1,123) and touchdowns (12). He also threw eight touchdown passes.

NFL Hall of Famer Rod Woodson, former NFL General Manager Ray Farmer, and former star receivers Torry Holt and T.J. Houshmandzadeh will be among the coaches/scouting staff for the Pro Football Hall of Fame World Bowl. The game is slated to air on CBS Sports Network on Dec. 27 at 7 p.m.
