HALL OF FAME PRODUCTIONS & CBS SPORTS NETWORK PARTNER FOR FIRST-EVER WEEK OF YOUTH FOOTBALL
CBS Sports Network and Hall of Fame Productions will partner to televise 10 hours of exclusive youth football content that will air over a 10-day period this month.
“This historic week of youth football reflects how the Pro Football Hall of Fame brand touches all aspects of this great game from the youth level to the game’s greatest heroes. Hall of Fame Productions, thanks to our partner CBS Sports Network, is thrilled to take this giant leap in providing unprecedented coverage of the best youth football in the world,” shared Pro Football Hall of Fame COO & Executive Producer George Veras, a 10-time National Sports Emmy Award winner who leads Hall of Fame Productions.
As part of the agreement, CBS Sports Network is the “Official Network Partner of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Youth Initiatives.”
The highlight of the partnership brings more than 30 U.S. All-Americans to Mexico City to announce their college choice on National Signing Day on Wednesday, Dec. 19. CBS Sports Network will televise a live three-hour show from 10 AM – 1 PM, ET that will emanate from the CBS Broadcast Studios in New York with host Adam Zucker and analysts Houston Nutt, Brian Jones, Kevin Carter and Tom Lemming in New York, and Hall of Famers JAMES LOFTON and ROD WOODSON from the HOF TV Azteca studios in Mexico City.
The coverage begins on Monday, Dec. 17 at 9 pm with a one-hour special previewing the week of youth football events taking place in Canton, Ohio and Mexico City, Mexico. “Football Dreams
Destination Canton” will be hosted by the Hall of Fame’s Jamir Howerton, who served as a Cleveland Browns sideline reporter from 2008-2013; and national collegiate scout Gary Howard. The show will provide insight into the upcoming National Signing Day, the 2nd World Youth Football Championships in Canton; and the World Bowl Presented by Xenith in Mexico City.
The World Youth Football Championships, featuring 2,100 athletes and more than 100 teams from over 40 states in the U.S., plus Canada and Mexico will be played at Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village in Canton. Preliminary games will be held at the world-class National Youth Football & Sports Complex and the title games in Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. The championship games will air on CBS Sports Network on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 8:00 PM, ET. Howerton will provide the play-by-play call and be joined in the booth by former NFL general manager Ray Farmer as the games’ analyst.
CBS Sports Network will air the World Bowl Presented by Xenith on Thursday, Dec. 27 from 7 to 10 PM ET at Azul Stadium in Mexico City. The game marks the first time that the top prep football players from across the United States and the world are showcased in an All-Star Bowl being played outside the United States, with 75 players slated to play.
