Kevin Mawae gets emotional Hall-of-Fame welcome from former coach, current boss Herm Edwards
Players like Tony Gonzalez, Ed Reed and Champ Bailey made the headlines. But another inductee to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s class of 2019 was longtime center Kevin Mawae.
Mawae is in his second year with the Arizona State coaching staff, helmed by his former coach on the New York Jets, Herm Edwards.
When Mawae returned to spring practice from the Super Bowl and Hall of Fame festivities in Atlanta — at 5:30 in the morning, no less — Edwards and the Sun Devils gave him a well-deserved greeting. The 6-foot-4, nearly 300-pound ex-lineman got understandably emotional.

He quickly announced his wife, Tracy Hicks, would be his Hall presenter, a very classy and respectable move.
