NATIONAL FLAG FOOTBALL AND PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME ACADEMY ANNOUNCE SUMMER FLAG NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Two giants in the youth football space are teaming up to produce one of the world’s biggest flag events. National Flag Football, the nation’s top flag football program and producer of the biggest flag events in the country is teaming up with the Pro Football Hall of Fame Academy, producers of the top football events in the world and owner of the biggest tackle youth championship platform.
The championship event is slated for the weekend of July 19-21, 2019 at the National Youth Football & Sports Complex located at Johnson Controls Pro Football Hall of Fame Village in Canton. The top flag teams from across the country and the globe will compete in the tournament.
“We are excited to host the dozens of teams traveling to Canton to compete in this first-class tournament. It is growth to see the growth of participation in football at all levels,” commented Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village CEO Mike Crawford.
The championship weekend will consist of exciting pool, bracket play, and championship play as well as feature Hall of Fame speakers, a national media night, and a Red-Carpet Ceremony for all teams.
All flag teams from around the country and world are invited to compete in the recreation and elite divisions. Top performing teams from the regional NFF flag events will be offered a guaranteed spot. Also, top athletes in several regions will be attending local tryouts and assembling teams from throughout the country.
A unique and exclusive element is “A Game for Life” curriculum, developed by the Pro Football Hall of Fame, that focuses on the values learned from the game of football. Led by Hall of Famer ROD WOODSON, this character development seminar is built around the Hall’s core values of commitment, integrity, courage, respect, and excellence that can be taken from the game of football and applied to all areas of life.
The event will also feature national television coverage on CBS Sports Network.
For the past few years, the Pro Football Hall of Fame football leadership has also been watching the development, enthusiasm and popularity for flag football and the global leadership by the National Flag Football staff visible throughout the country and the NFF sold-out Championship this January.
“Given the popularity of flag football and the global reach of National Flag Football, we are thrilled to partner with Bryan Ledin and Francis Meram and their great team at NFF to co-produce the next great event in Flag Football,” stated Rich McGuinness, Director of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Academy. “The NFF team are true pioneers in the flag space and have created the national standard for flag football.
