TY LAW CAREER TO BE SHOWCASED

Class of 2019 Enshrinee TY LAW, who will be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 3, recently provided more than 40 items from his career and life to the Hall. Aligning with its important Mission to “Honor the Heroes of the Game, Preserve its History, Promote its Values & Celebrate Excellence EVERYWHERE,” the Hall’s curatorial team will preserve Law’s artifacts for fans to see.

Among the jerseys, plaques, footballs, helmets, photos, trophies, pads and newspaper clippings, the following are some notable artifacts from Law’s collection which are pictured (right):

• New England Patriots helmet worn by Law
• Replica No. 24 Ty Law New England Patriots jersey
• Super Bowl XXXVI game ball presented to Law
• Paper weight featuring replicas of Law’s Super Bowl Rings from XXXVI, XXXVIII and XXXIX
• Gloves from Law’s professional football career

• Law’s Sports Nutrition Binder from the 1996 season with the New England Patriots

 A sampling of other interesting items from Law include:

• Law’s game-worn Aliquippa (Pa.) High School jersey and helmet
• Game ball presented to Law for “A Complete Team Win” on Oct. 8, 2000 when the Patriots defeated the Colts 24-16
• Neil Breslin Award for Most Valuable Player in 1991 given to Law by the Aliquippa Quarterback Club
• 1994 Big Ten All-Conference Team Award given to Law
• Law’s Super Bowl XXXVI nameplate

Many of Law’s artifacts will be showcased in the Class of 2019 Locker Exhibit which is slated to open early this summer. The exhibit will feature lockers containing mementos from the careers of the class members, including CHAMP BAILEY, PAT BOWLEN, GIL BRANDT, TONY GONZALEZ, LAW, KEVIN MAWAE, ED REED and JOHNNY ROBINSON.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), the highest national recognition afforded to museums. A mere three percent of museums in the United States have earned AAM accreditation. The Hall of Fame preserves its collection in the world-class Ralph Wilson, Jr. Pro Football Research & Preservation Center, where artifacts are cared for by curatorial professionals utilizing the highest museum standards.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Friday, May 24. The Hall’s summer hours, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, are in effect from Saturday, May 25 through Labor Day. Fans can plan their visits to the Hall by visiting www.ProFootballHOF.com/Visit.
