Get Well Soon, Tony Boselli

The Pro Football Hall of Fame and all of its living members, our esteemed “Gold Jackets,” are asking fans to keep former Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Tony Boselli in their thoughts and prayers.

Boselli, a member of the NFL’s All-Decade Team of the 1990s, has been hospitalized in the Jacksonville area with the COVID-19 infection, according to several media outlets. Mike Freeman, an NFL columnist for Bleacher Report, first reported the news Sunday.

For the past five years, Boselli has been a semifinalist for enshrinement into the Hall.

“The entire Pro Football Hall of Fame family is praying for Tony’s speedy and complete recovery. He can rest easier knowing he’ll never be alone in this fight,” said David Baker, president and CEO of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

“We’ve gotten to know Tony over the past several years, not only as a great football player but an outstanding human being,” Baker said. “The same is true of his entire family. They are people of high character who will help Tony get well soon.”

Boselli was the first player Jacksonville drafted after joining the National Football League. He anchored the Jaguars’ line as left tackle from 1995 to 2001. He was selected to five Pro Bowls and as All-Pro three times. He appeared in 91 games, with 90 starts, before a shoulder injury curtailed his career.
