NFL's All-Decade Team of the 2010s - Special Teams Coaches

The National Football League's All-Decade Teams have been determined by the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Selection Committee.

The 55-member team is the result of votes cast over the last several weeks by the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 48-member selection committee. Only players who received at least one selection to a Pro Bowl, Associated Press All-Pro team or Pro Football Writers Association all-conference team during the 2010-19 seasons were eligible.

Eight unanimous selections – quarterback TOM BRADY, defensive tackle AARON DONALD, linebacker VON MILLER, running back ADRIAN PETERSON, offensive tackle JOE THOMAS, kicker JUSTIN TUCKER, defensive end J.J. WATT and guard MARSHAL YANDA – appear among the 53 players.

Punters

 

JOHNNY HEKKER

College: Oregon State
Pro Career: 2012-2019 St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams

Hekker averaged 47.0 yards per punt during the decade and landed his 608 punts inside the 20-yard line 39.3 percent of the time. He earned six All-Pro selections and four Pro Bowls during the decade.

 

SHANE LECHLER

College: Texas A&M
Pro Career: 2010-2012 Oakland Raiders, 2013-2017 Houston Texans

Lechler averaged 47.8 yards per punt during the decade. He landed an incredible 222 of his 666 punt inside the 20-yard line as well. He was twice selected as an All-Pro and a Pro Bowl choice.

 

Kickers

 

STEPHEN GOSTKOWSKI

College: Memphis
Pro Career: 2010-2019 New England Patriots

He had eight straight seasons of scoring more than 100 points and four seasons scoring more than 150 points. He converted 88.3 percent of his field goals on 271 of 307. He earned three Pro Bowls and two All-Pro selections.

 

*JUSTIN TUCKER

College: Texas 
Pro Career: 2012-2019 Baltimore Ravens

Tucker is the most accurate kicker in NFL history with 90.8 percent conversion rate. He has scored more than 100 points in every season of his career and has  a career long of 61 yards (2013). He is a five-time All-Pro choice and a three-time Pro Bowler.

 

Punt Returners

 

TYREEK HILL

College: West Alabama 
Pro Career: 2016-2019 Kansas City Chiefs

Hill made the All-Decade team despite playing only four seasons. He averaged 11.9 yards per returns and had four returned for a touchdown. He was selected to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro team once as a returner.

 

DARREN SPROLES

College: Kansas St.
Pro Career: 2010 San Diego Chargers, 2011-13 New Orleans Saints, 2014-19 Philadelphia Eagles

Sproles is the only player to earn All-Decade honors at two positions as he also eared a spot in the Flex position. Twice during the decade (2014 and 2015) he led the NFL in punt return yardage and TD returns (2).

 

Kick Returners

 

DEVIN HESTER

College: Miami (FL)
Pro Career: 2010-13 Chicago Bears, 2014-2015 Atlanta Falcons, 2016- Baltimore Ravens, 2016 Seattle Seahawks

Hester twice led the league in kickoff returns and yardage (2013 and 2014). He had an average of 25.8 yards per return and he had one of his 213 returns taken of a touchdown.

 

CORDARRELLE PATTERSON

College: Tennessee
Pro Career: 2013-2016 Minnesota Vikings, 2017 Oakland Raiders, 2018 New England Patriots, 2019 Chicago Bears

Patterson scorched the NFL in kick returns. He averaged 29.9 yards per return during the decade and led the league in return yardage three times. He scored a TD on seven returns, the longest being an NFL record 109 yards in 2013.

 

Coaches

 

Bill Belichick

College: Wesleyan
Pro Career: 2010-2019 New England Patriots

Belichick won 125 games, led the Patriots to 10 AFC Division East Division titles, five AFC Championships, and three Super Bowl victories.  His victory total during the decade lifted is career total to over 300. He is just the third coach to reach that mark.   

 

Pete Carroll

College: Pacific
Pro Career: 2010-2019 Seattle Seahawks

Carroll posted a 100-59-1 regulars season record during the decade. He posted double-digit win totals seven times. He won the NFC West four time, won two NFC championships and Super Bowl XLVIII.
