Historic First for Cleveland and Mike Priefer
Now on display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the Pro Football Today Gallery are the game-worn sideline jacket, gloves and headset of Cleveland Browns special teams coordinator Mike Priefer. These items were used during the Browns’ Wild Card Round playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Jan. 10, 2021.
Priefer became the first acting head coach in NFL history to win a playoff game, leading Cleveland to a 48-37 victory. This was the Browns’ first postseason victory since 1995. Head coach Kevin Stefanski was unable to perform his regular duties after testing positive for COVID-19 prior to the playoff game.
