Class of 2021 Locker Exhibit Now Open

The Class of 2021 Locker Exhibit opened today, showcasing artifacts from all eight class members: ALAN FANECA, TOM FLORES, CALVIN JOHNSON, JOHN LYNCH, PEYTON MANNING, BILL NUNN, DREW PEARSON and CHARLES WOODSON. The exhibit is located in the Interactive Area of the Museum and highlights significant milestones from the life and career of each enshrinee.

“Aligning with the Hall’s important mission to ‘Honor the Heroes of the Game, Preserve its History, Promote its Values and Celebrate Excellence EVERYWHERE,’ the new exhibit showcases unique artifacts from the careers of the Class of 2021,” shared Saleem Choudhry, the Hall’s Vice President of Museum/Exhibit Services. “These historic treasures commemorate momentous occasions in each of their football careers as well as their excellence off the football field.”

Among the featured artifacts are a variety of items from footballs, jerseys and warmups to awards, film cannisters and playbooks. The following is a sampling of the items on display in the new exhibit:

ALAN FANECA

• Super Bowl XL uniform and locker nameplate
• Football from Faneca’s childhood used to play catch with his father
• Notebook with handwritten motto “LEAVE NO DOUBT” on front cover

TOM FLORES

• Super Bowl XV film cannister from the Oakland Raiders’ victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Jan. 25, 1981
• Plaque from LULAC (Language of United Latin American Citizens) recognizing Flores as the first minority NFL head coach to win a Super Bowl
• 1954 H.M. Ginsburg, MD Award for Outstanding Back Trophy

CALVIN JOHNSON

• Detroit Lions jersey, helmet and shoes
• College Football Hall of Fame certificate and Georgia Tech jersey
• Sandy Creek High School helmet

JOHN LYNCH

• 2003 Pro Bowl locker nameplate
• Lynch’s copy of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Super Bowl XXXVII game plan
• Denver Broncos and Buccaneers jerseys

PEYTON MANNING

• Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos jerseys and helmets
• Super Bowl XLI and 50 hats
• 2003 and 2014 game notebooks

BILL NUNN

• Nunn’s briefcase, stopwatch and binoculars
• Black College Football Hall of Fame patch
• Pittsburgh Courier scrapbooks from 1964-65

DREW PEARSON

• Game ball commemorating Pearson’s 366^th reception from the Dallas Cowboys vs. St. Louis Cardinals game Nov. 16, 1980 in Texas Stadium
• Bronzed shoe recognizing him for being the Cowboys’ All-Time Receiver
• Cowboys helmet and jerseys

CHARLES WOODSON

• Oakland Raiders and Green Bay Packers jerseys and helmets
• Game-worn cleats from 2015 when Woodson intercepted his 65^th pass
• 1998 NFL Draft card

Additionally, several items from the Centennial Class of 2020 remain on display, including:

• Harold Carmichael’s Philadelphia Eagles warm-up jacket
• Winston Hill’s Super Bowl III championship ring
• An Emmy won by Steve Sabol – one of the more than 100 he was awarded during his career as a producer, director and writer
• Duke Slater’s Chicago Cardinals jersey worn from 1926-1931

The Pro Football Hall of Fame has made numerous other updates to the Museum over the past few weeks, including:

• “The Season in Review” display featuring several artifacts from the unprecedented 2020 NFL season. The pieces in the exhibit help tell the story of how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the NFL.
• Installation of the plaques for the newly inducted Black College Football Hall of Fame (BCFHOF) Class of 2021, along with the Class of 2020 inductees, in the BCFHOF Gallery. These plaques list the Hall of Fame-worthy accomplishments these players, coaches and contributors have brought to their respective Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
• 2020 NFL MVP display honoring Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

ENSHRINEMENT WEEK

The 2021 Enshrinement Week Powered by Johnson Controls is highlighted by the Hall of Fame Game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys later that evening with an 8 p.m. kickoff. The Centennial Class of 2020 Enshrinement will take place Saturday night (Aug. 7) at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, followed by the Class of 2021 Enshrinement Sunday (Aug. 8) evening. The Centennial Celebration wraps up Monday night (Aug. 9) with the Concert for Legends, featuring Brad Paisley and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Tickets are available for most events at ProFootballHOF.com/tickets/
