Jori Epstein selected as PFWA 2022 Terez A. Paylor Emerging Writer Award Winner

The Professional Football Writers of America announced on Tuesday that USA Today’s Jori Epstein has been selected as the winner of the 2022 Terez A. Paylor Emerging Writer Award.

The annual award, established in 2021, was named for the late Terez Paylor, the popular football journalist, who unexpectedly passed away early last year at the age of 37.

Paylor had written for the Kansas City Star and Yahoo! Sports, and was one of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 48 voting members.

Epstein is currently USA Today’s Dallas Cowboys/NFL Reporter. She previously has written for The Dallas Morning News and Sports Illustrated.

The other finalists for the 2022 award were Michael-Shawn Dugar (The Athletic), Emmanuel Morgan (New York Times) and Tashan Reed (The Athletic).
