The Mission: Featuring Retired Chiefs Equipment Manager Mike Davidson

Every Thursday, Hall of Fame Productions is proud to air a new episode of “The Mission” podcast. During the month of June, we’ll pay tribute to the winners of the first “Awards of Excellence” being presented this summer at the Pro Football Hall of Fame by interviewing a member from each selection committee.

Early this spring, the Hall announced it would present 20 Awards of Excellence that will pay tribute to four vital groups to every NFL football organization and their operation: assistant coaches, trainers, equipment mangers and public relations personnel.

This week’s guest is Mike Davidson, former head equipment manager for the Kansas City Chiefs, current associate historian/curator of the Chiefs Hall of Honor and a member of the esteemed Awards of Excellence selection committee.

On “The Mission” podcast, Davidson talks in depth about the honorees and how 2022’s inaugural list – Sid Brooks, Ed Carroll, Tony Parisi, Dan “Chief” Simmons and Whitey Zimmerman – was formed.
