Pro Football Hall of Famer Rickey Jackson earns college degree with class of 2023
Hall of Famers
At the University of Pittsburgh’s graduation ceremony for the class of 2023, Pro Football Hall of Famer RICKEY JACKSON recently received his degree from the College of General Studies at the age of 65, according to Pro Football Talk.
Jackson, who attended Pitt from 1977-1980, was an All-America selection in his senior year and later drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the second round of the 1981 NFL Draft. The former linebacker said this accomplishment, although individual, is very important to him.
"I’d put it up with the Super Bowl and all," Jackson told Pittwire. "This is something I achieved personally on my own, so I’d put it right up with that.”
He hopes to be a role model for other former professional football players, showing that it’s possible and important for them to receive their diplomas.
