Class of 2024 featured exhibit on display at Pro Football Hall of Fame
Seven free-standing glass cases will display special artifacts each member of the Class of 2024 (or his family) has selected from his personal collection of memorabilia to submit to the Hall to help tell the story of his journey to Canton as one of 378 players, coaches and contributors now part of the game’s most exclusive team.
The Class of 2024 presented by Visual Edge IT includes DWIGHT FREENEY, RANDY GRADISHAR, DEVIN HESTER, ANDRE JOHNSON, STEVE McMICHAEL, JULIUS PEPPERS and PATRICK WILLIS.
A small sampling of the personal artifacts on display includes:
- Shoes Freeney wore during his 2001 All-American senior season at Syracuse University, when he led the NCAA with 17.5 sacks.
- Gradishar’s Denver Broncos helmet that has been immortalized in bronze.
- A jersey worn by Hester on Oct. 20, 2013, against the Washington Redskins. During this game, he recorded an 81-yard punt return touchdown, tying the NFL record for most return touchdowns (19) for a career.
- The captain’s patch Johnson wore during for 10 of his 11 seasons with the Houston Texans.
- McMichael’s lucky shoes he wore as an avid golfer after his 15-year NFL career.
- The playbook from Peppers’ 2000 season on the University of North Carolina men’s basketball team.
- Shoulder pads Willis wore with the San Francisco 49ers during his eight-year career.
Guests can view the cases any day this summer as part of their admission to the Hall, which is operating under summer hours — 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. — through Labor Day. (Hours will adjust slightly during Enshrinement Week.)
The Class of 2024 presented by Visual Edge IT will be enshrined at noon Aug. 3 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.
