Jayden Daniels’ rookie record lands artifacts at Hall of FameIn just his third game as an NFL quarterback, Jayden Daniels set a rookie record with his final pass of the Washington Commanders’ Week 3 game. The rookie signal caller finished with an NFL single-game rookie record completion rate of 91.3% (21-for-23).

With the Commanders leading 31-26 over the Cincinnati Bengals, Daniels led Washington on a game sealing drive, resulting in a 27-yard touchdown pass to Terry McLaurin with 2:10 left in the fourth quarter. If Daniels’ pass on third-and-7 were not complete, his completion percentage would have dropped of 86.9% (20-for-23), which is below the rookie record of 88.9% set by Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys in 2016.

For the game, Daniels recorded 254 yards and two touchdowns passing, adding 39 rushing yards and another score for the Commanders.

Daniels took home the NFC Offensive Player of the Week Award for Week 3, the first of his career and just the third rookie quarterback to receive the award in the past five seasons. Daniels becomes the third Washington rookie quarterback to win Offensive Player of the Week, joining Robert Griffin III (two times in 2012) and Gus Frerotte (1994).

The football Daniels threw for his final completion to McLaurin is now featured in the Hall of Fame’s “Pro Football Today Gallery.”
