Deitrick Haddon to headline Faith, Family & Football Gospel Concert

Show set for Aug. 31 as part of Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic Weekend in Canton

Deitrick Haddon, an acclaimed gospel artist, songwriter, producer, pastor and actor, will headline the Faith, Family & Football Gospel Concert presented by The Good Feet Store at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31, in Canton.

Deitrick Haddon, an acclaimed gospel artist, songwriter, producer, pastor and actor, will headline the Faith, Family & Football Gospel Concert.Haddon’s performance – a blend of music that extends from classic soul to hip-hop – will take place on the Pro Football Hall of Fame campus as part of the annual Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic Weekend. Concert admission is free.

A Detroit native, Haddon is known for his progressive gospel and contemporary styles of music. He uses his music as ministry to the unchurched. In performances, 
he often intersperses his songs with spoken, sermon-like material.

Haddon launched his solo career with “Lost & Found,” reaching No. 1 on Billboard’s gospel charts and spawning the hit “Sinner’s Prayer.” Continuing to leave a mark his singles “God is Good,” “Heaven Knows” and “Love Him Like I Do” all became upbeat gospel-flavored hits. 

New to this year’s Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic Weekend is a revamped game day. In addition to Haddon’s performance, other activities Sunday, Aug. 31, include the HBCU Family Block Party presented by CSE Federal Credit Union; The Classic Tailgate presented by Sugardale; and the 2025 Clash at the Classic, featuring the NCAA Division II football teams from Miles College, defending champions of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), and Virginia Union University, defending champions of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Other events around Classic Weekend include a Classic Battle of the Bands and the Red S.H.O.E. 5K on Saturday, Aug. 30; and the Classic College Fair, which draws dozens of universities, many that award scholarships on the spot, and a Community Career Job Fair in partnership with OhioMeansJobs, both on Thursday, Aug. 28.
