All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey’s jersey, now on display alongside a game ball in the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s "Pro Football Today Gallery," commemorates the significant milestone in the NFL’s international expansion.

The Steelers, designated the home team, have longstanding ties to the Emerald Isle. The Rooney family emigrated to the United States from Newry, a town in Northern Ireland, in the 1800s before Art Rooney Sr. founded an NFL franchise in Pittsburgh in 1933. The late Dan Rooney, son of Art Rooney, served as U.S. ambassador to Ireland from 2009-2012 and co-founded The Ireland Funds.

The game marked the second of seven international contests on the league’s slate this season as the NFL continues to strengthen its international ties. The remaining games will be played in Europe, following the Los Angeles Chargers victory over the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this season in São Paulo, Brazil, and the Vikings’ victory over the Cleveland Browns in London.

The NFL has confirmed one international game next season, featuring the Los Angeles Rams in Australia, and has committed to playing at least three games in Brazil over the next five seasons as it continues to explore avenues to grow the game globally.
