Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic

September 3-5, 2021



The 2021 Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic consists of five major events between September 3-5, 2021. These events rely on 200 community volunteers to support them. Volunteer opportunities range from behind-the-scenes planning and production to working directly with the teams, bands and Black Jackets (a term to reference living members of the  Black College Football Hall of Fame) as Canton hosts thousands of guests in our community.

Volunteer Committees

  1. Hotel Hospitality Committee
    Volunteers will provide assistance to the football teams and bands at several local hotels.
    Saturday 9/4: Times TBD
    Sunday 9/5: Times TBD
    Volunteers needed: 8-10
  2. Transportation Committee
    Volunteers will drive the Official Vehicles of the Black College Football Hall of Fame for VIPs and Black Jackets.  NOTE: All Transportation Committee members must be at least 25 years old, have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and pass a background check.
    Friday 9/3: 9:00 AM-10:00 PM
    Saturday 9/4: 9:00 AM-10:00 PM
    Sunday 9/5: 9:00 AM-10:00 PM
    Volunteers needed: 15-20 
  3. VIP Host Committee
    Volunteers will provide personal assistance to the Black Jackets, College Presidents and VIPs that are in Canton to participate in the 2021 Classic Weekend activities.
    Friday 9/3: As Needed
    Saturday 9/4: As Needed
    Sunday 9/5: As Needed
    Volunteers needed: 12-15
  4. HOF Campus Guest Services Committee
    Volunteers will provide information and Guest Service assistance on HOF Campus and Fan Fest area to guests.
    Sunday 9/5: 10:00 AM-8:00 PM
    Volunteers needed: 10
  5. VIP Reception Committee
    Volunteers will greet and check-in guests and provide assistance with the VIP Reception
    Friday 9/3: 3:00 PM-11:00 PM
    Volunteers needed: 10-15
  6. Drum Line & Dance Competition Committee
    Volunteers will act as Ticket Takers, Ushers and provide logistical assistance during the event.
    Drum Line & Dance Competition: Noon-5:00 PM
    Saturday 9/4: 9:00 AM-6:00 PM
    Volunteers needed: 50-60
  7. Team Bands Campus Logistics Committee
    Volunteers will provide logistical assistance for the marching bands while they are on the HOF Campus and in the Stadium.
    Sunday 9/5: 11:00 PM-6:00 PM
    Volunteers Needed: 10-15
  8. Game Committee
    Volunteers will provide assistance for on-field logistics for pre-game and halftime shows.
    Game @ 3:30 PM in Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium
    Sunday 9/5: Noon-9:00 PM
    Volunteers needed: 15-20
  9. HOF Operations
    Volunteers will assist HOF staff with stadium and campus operations.
    Saturday 9/4: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    Sunday 9/5: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
    Volunteers needed: 5 - 10
  10. Promotions and Community Relations Committee
    Volunteers will work with the Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic event organizer and Sales & Marketing team to coordinate sales and promotions to all events within the community.
    May through September
    Volunteers needed: up to 50
