My Playoff Picks

1/7/2010

Three days until the playoffs begin and I can’t wait for things to start up on Saturday. January is a great month here at the Hall of Fame because we have the NFL playoffs all month culminating with the Super Bowl on February 7th. During the same time we have the Class of 2010 trimmed from 25 to 15 this week and then the Class being announced on February 6th in South Florida. One of the great advantages to working at the Pro Football Hall of Fame versus when I worked for a team (Eagles) is that we will always have a Super Bowl champion here each year. When you work for a team, your season ends with a disappointing loss each year unless you win the Super Bowl.

Before the season began, I picked the Saints, Eagles, Vikings and 49ers to win their divisions and the Giants and Falcons to be the Wild Cards for the NFC. I only got two right (Saints & Vikings), the Eagles got the Wild Card and the Giants, 49ers and Falcons did not make the playoffs. With three weeks left I picked the Saints, Eagles, Vikings and Cardinals to win their divisions and the Giants and Packers to be the Wild Cards for the NFC. Dallas got hot and won the division which made the Eagles the Wild Card and the Giants did not make the playoffs.

In the AFC, before the season began I picked the Colts, Ravens, Patriots and Chargers to win their divisions and the Steelers and Texans to be the Wild Cards. I got three right (Colts, Patriots and Chargers), the Ravens got the Wild Card and the Steelers and Texans just missed out on the playoffs. With three weeks left I picked the Colts, Bengals, Patriots and Chargers to win their divisions and the Broncos and Ravens to be the Wild Cards. The only one I missed here was the Jets knocking out the Broncos for the Wild Card.

I think it is a real toss up on who will emerge as NFC and AFC Champions. I am only going to make my Super Bowl prediction now and pick each week of the playoffs week by week. I am going to say the Super Bowl will be the Saints vs. the Chargers with the Chargers as Super Bowl Champions. Here are my predictions for Wild Card Weekend. Enjoy!

Bengals 20, Jets 13
Patriots 24, Ravens 23
Packers 31, Cardinals 28
Eagles 23, Cowboys 20
