2020 Super Bowl Game Preview

Kansas City Chiefs

The AFC Champions are headed to the Super Bowl for the first time in 50 years.

Led by starlet quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs defeated the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans en route to Miami.

After missing part of the early season with a knee injury, Mahomes returned to full health and led the Chiefs to eight straight victories crossing the regular and postseason.

He finished the regular season with 4,031 passing yards and 26 touchdowns while only throwing five interceptions. But the third-year quarterback has turned it up in his last two playoff games, throwing eight touchdowns and zero picks to lead the Chiefs to an AFC Championship.

Mahomes will look to keep the momentum rolling with wide receiver Sammy Watkins, who exploded in the AFC Championship for seven catches, 114 yard and one touchdown.

San Francisco 49ers

After a dominant regular season and postseason run, the San Francisco 49ers are back in the Super Bowl for the first time since 2013.

The 49ers claimed the No.1 seed in the NFC after a 13-3 regular season and proceeded to make quick work of both their opponents in the playoffs on the road to Miami.

In their 27-10 Division round win over the Vikings, the 49ers stifled Minnesota’s rushing attack, holding the Vikings to a dire 21 yards on the ground.

The defense stepped up once again in San Francisco’s 37-20 win over Green Bay in the NFC Championship, picking off Aaron Rodgers twice and sacking him three times.

But the highlight of the NFC Championship was the offensive performance of running back Raheem Mostert, who rushed for 220 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries. The Packers had no answer for the 49ers back, so head coach Kyle Shanahan chose to continually feed him all game.
