Helping to fulfill its mission to promote the values taught through playing the game of football, the Pro Football Hall of Fame opened an exhibit titled, simply, “Character.”Sept. 16, 1950. Cleveland Browns vs. Philadelphia Eagles.

The new team from the AAFC vs. the established NFL team.

After playing in the AAFC for four years — and winning all four titles in the league’s short history — the Browns were scheduled to face the defending NFL champion Eagles in the 1950 season opener.

The Browns were not expected to win, but with great players and a high level of TEAMWORK, they defeated the Eagles 35-10. (Then won another matchup later, 13-7.)
