Do you have a passion for football and want to learn more about the history of professional football? Are you looking for a new and exciting way to serve your community and at the same time meet new people who have the same interests? Read about our current museum volunteer opportunities and how to join the Pro Football Hall of Fame team.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame will train you in guest services skills and the knowledge of the history of professional football necessary to enrich every visitor's experience. Volunteers at the Pro Football Hall of Fame greet, help orient guests, educate on various aspects of professional football history, and assist with youth programs, special events and archival collections.
Museum Ambassadors greet and assist visitors at the Pro Football Hall of Fame for promoting docent presentations, directing proper tour flow, passing out information, orienting visitors throughout the museum and answering questions about exhibition locations. These volunteers are familiar with the Pro Football Hall of Fame building and have the ability to interact with diverse groups of people in a respectful and friendly manner. Guests at the Pro Football Hall of Fame visit each year from all 50 states and all over the world! Museum Ambassadors should have a passing familiarity with football and the NFL and it is preferred that they have previous customer service experience.
(Time Frame: Shifts are 3 hours per month, with available time slots 7 days a week)
Docents are volunteers who have completed the pro football history seminar to educate museum visitors about the history of professional football. Opportunities for docents include conducting educational presentations geared to enhance the overall experience of visitors to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on such topics as the history of the Super Bowl rings, the casting process for making the Hall of Fame Bronzed Busts and unusual artifacts in the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s collection. Docents must have the ability to interact with diverse groups of people in a respectful manor and have a friendly demeanor.
(Time Frame: 3 hours per month at a minimum to maintain the high level of understanding and history of the topic in order to present it consistently to the visitors; available time slots 7 days a week)
The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Youth/Education Programs aim to inspire young people to achieve Hall of Fame success on and off the field. These volunteers assist with the various needs of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Youth/Education department with their award-winning educational programs. These programs include School Group Tours, Football Skills Clinics and our Heart of a Hall of Famer series. The Youth/Education volunteers provide directions and assistance to the youth, parents and teachers during their visit. These volunteers must have a high degree of flexibility and must be quick to change and fast paced situations.
(Time Frame: Shifts for most Youth-Education Programs range from 2-4 hours, ranging from days, evenings and weekends)
Archives Volunteers assist the Pro Football Hall of Fame in its mission to “Preserve the History of the Game” by working with the Archival and Collections departments containing pro football’s historical documents and artifacts. Sample duties include data entry of information on pro football players, photographing and/or scanning documents, photographs and objects, and inventorying various collections. Archives volunteers must be an active volunteer (served at least 40 hours in a 3-month time frame) and complete a training seminar that includes proper artifact and document handling.
(Time Frame: Shifts are 3 hours per month, with available time slots Monday through Friday beginning at 9:00 or 9:30 AM depending on the department and run no later than 5:00 PM)
Special Events Volunteers assist with the various needs of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s events that occur throughout the year and help the staff extend the reach of the Pro Football Hall of Fame with various marketing projects. These volunteers have various duties ranging from providing directions or instructions to guests, assisting the Marketing department with clerical activities including direct mail campaigns, data entry, or sending out informational flyers and helping to set up or tear down Special Events. Special Events Volunteers must have the ability to interact with diverse groups of people in a respectful manor and have a friendly demeanor. They must be go through an interview process to be selected to the Special Event Volunteer team.
(Time Frame: Shifts for most Special Events will not be finalized until the weeks leading up to the event therefore this position will require volunteers to be flexible.)
All volunteers must be trained as Museum Ambassadors prior to exploring the other opportunities.
If you are able to donate at least three hours of your time per month, you are eligible for a volunteer position and for our benefits/rewards program including unlimited admission to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The only requirements are that you love people and are at least 16 years of age.

All volunteer positions at the Pro Football Hall of Fame require the completion of an application, interview process, orientation session and successful criminal background check.
