In 1964, Carl Eller, a consensus All-America with the University of Minnesota, was a first-round draft pick of both the National Football League’s Minnesota Vikings and the Buffalo Bills of the then-rival American Football League. A 6-6, 247-pound defensive stalwart, Eller opted to stay in a familiar environment and signed with the Vikings. HOF Bio>>>
Although he played at the relatively obscure position of left guard on the offensive line, Tom Mack gained a lion’s share of attention during his 13 star-studded seasons with the Los Angeles Rams from 1966 through 1978. HOF Bio>>>
