"More excited than you’ve ever been," Austan Christiaan said when asked how excited he was to be invited to the Pro Football Hall of Fame later this week.

The 9-year-old will be taking part in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Academy, a camp featuring the top young players in the country who will then be coached up by some of the game's greats.

"I want to meet pretty much every NFL coach. I know that’s not going to happen, but I’m hoping," said Christiaan about what he is most looking forward to doing while in Canton.

The soon-to-be 4th grader at Canterbury has only been playing quarterback for a little over a year but was chosen as one of the top 9-year-olds in the country.

"He’s definitely a bit bigger than most 9-year-olds that I see, but aside from physically being pretty strong for his age, he truly enjoys the process of getting better. You can see how excited he gets," said Austan's strength and conditioning coach, Matthew Frommelt.

Christiaan said he is excited to soak in as much knowledge as possible while in Canton and bring it back to Southwest Florida where he plays for the Cypress Lake Hornets. Even though he's still in elementary school, Christiaan still has big plans for his football future that all begin later this week at the Hall of Fame.

"That it could bring me to the NFL. I think that’s any kid’s goal!"
