The Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony, traditionally conducted on the front steps of the Hall of Fame, will be held this year at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Field at Fawcett Stadium.

"We made the decision to move the ceremony after considering several options available to us," stated Hall of Fame Executive Director John Bankert. "The ever-increasing popularity of the enshrinement ceremony has created a demand for seats that is increasingly difficult to satisfy in our current location. Fawcett Stadium provides us with a safe and comfortable way to respond to that need."

Seating at the enshrinement in front of the Hall of Fame, although increased last year with additional temporary bleachers, was limited to fewer than 11,000.

While the exact configuration for the event has not yet been finalized and a total number of seats determined, early indications are that there will be several thousand additional seats available to the public. Hall officials hope to have a final number and an event layout by late-April.

Fawcett Stadium, which is located across the street form the Hall of Fame, was the site of the first three enshrinement ceremonies (1963-1965).
