Seahawks'
fan on a three-day visit to HOF
April 10, 2003 - Most visitors to the Pro Football Hall of Fame attempt to take in everything at the 83,000-square football facility in Canton, Ohio in one day. Upon exiting the Hall of Fame, often times a diehard football fan will lament, "I need to spend days here to see it all!" That's exactly what one such dedicated visitor is doing. Thad Stevens of Federal Way, Washington has traveled to Canton during a week-long vacation and is spending three days at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. "Football is my primary passion," stated the 69-year-old Seattle Seahawks fan who admits he loves all sports. He has been thinking about this trip ever since the Pro Football Hall of Fame opened 40 years ago in 1963. He finally decided to make the trek when he realized he hadn't been on a vacation for some time. So, he journeyed east by himself to get a much needed break. Stevens is retired from the restaurant business but currently works in security at U.S. Bank in Seattle. "It's just unbelievable," he responded after touring about one-tenth of the museum on Thursday. Stevens will return to the Hall of Fame again Friday and on Saturday before flying home on Sunday.
