December 5, 1937 – Washington 49, NEW YORK 14
Sammy Baugh led his team to a convincing win in the regular season finale. Redskins’ halfback Cliff Battles scored on a 75-yard run and added another touchdown on a 76-yard interception return.
Sammy Baugh completed 16 of 21 passes for 199 yards and threw one touchdown. He also intercepted two passes on defense, and average 40 yards per punt. Washington’s Andy Farkas rushed for three touchdowns.
October 10, 1954 – NEW YORK 51, Washington 21
On a warm, sunny day in the nation’s capital, Giants quarterback Charlie Conerly fired four touchdown passes to ruin Washington’s home opener. Three of Conerly’s scoring strikes were to end Bob Schnelker. New York’s Ben Agajanian kicked three field goals and five extra points.
October 1, 1967 – WASHINGTON 38, New York 34
The Redskins outlasted the Giants in a see-saw battle. Bobby Mitchell rushed for 110 yard and scored one touchdown to lead the Redskins. Fran Tarkenton threw two second half TDs and Homer Jones scored on a 68-yard pass play from running back Ernie Koy for New York.
November 14, 1976 – NEW YORK 12, Washington 9
The Giants snapped an 11-game losing streak to the Redskins as Joe Danelo booted the game-winning, 50-yard field goal with 4:32 remaining in the game. Jim Stienke intercepted a Redskins pass in the end zone with 34 second left to seal the win.
January 11, 1987 (1986 NFC Championship Game) – NEW YORK 17, Washington 0
With winds gusting at 30 mph in Giants Stadium, New York won the coin toss and opted to have the wind at its back rather than receive. The move paid off after the Redskins had a short punt that set up an early field goal by the Giants. New York’s defense shut down Washington including on all 14 of the Redskins’ third down attempts.
