Hall of Fame Bridge dedication
Six years after the concept was initiated, the new Pro Football Hall of Fame Bridge was dedicated during a ceremony this morning.
The concept of the attractive structure was thought of by the Stark County Engineer who first contacted the Hall of Fame in 2000 with the idea of adding an aesthetic treatment to the future bridge.
The Hall of Fame and its Board of Trustees decided to move forward with financing the plan. The dream became reality through the dedicated efforts of several partners - the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Stark County Engineer, Ohio Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, and related agencies.
A distinguished group of community and project leaders addressed invited guests who were on hand for Monday's dedication ceremony. The event was capped by a ceremonial "drive through" ribbon cutting that featured the Hall of Fame's 1920 Hupmobile.
