Hall’s VP nominated for award
Joe Horrigan, the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Vice President Communicatons/Exhibits has been nominated for the prestigious Horrigan Award. Presented by the Professional Football Writers of America (PFWA), the award is given to a league or club official for his or her qualities and professional style in helping pro football writers do their jobs.
The Horrigan Award is named after Joe's late father, Jack Horrigan, who served as the Publications Relations person for the American Football League and the Buffalo Bills following a distinguished career as a sportswriter.
Joe Horrigan is one of five finalists for the award. The others include former Green Bay Packers President Bob Harlan; Seattle Seahawks Head Coach Mike Holmgren; Carolina Panthers General Manager Marty Hurney; and Floyd Reese, the General Manager of the Tennessee Titans.
A winner is expected to be announced later this month and the award presentation is performed at some point during the NFL preseason or regular season.
