The Pro Football Hall of Fame Presents...the NFL's MVP

For the second straight season, the Pro Football Hall of Fame is presenting special recognition for the National Football League's Most Valuable Player.

The Hall of Fame is located in Canton, Ohio, but its reach extends far beyond the Midwestern city. Often, the football museum travels to other locations to share its collections or participate in a special event.

LaDainian_TomlinsonSuch will be the case on April 12, when Hall of Fame President/Executive Director Steve Perry travels to San Diego, California to honor the Chargers' LaDainian Tomlinson. The veteran running back won the Associated Press Most Valuable Player Award in 2006 after he added another phenomenal season to his long list of career achievements.

Tomlinson and Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown will speak and Emmy Award-winning broadcaster Dick Enberg will serve as moderator at a special Sports at Lunch hosted by the San Diego Hall of Champions on Thursday.

A major part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame's mission is to chronicle and recognize the accomplishments of individuals who have made a positive impact on the sport of pro football. Consistent with that objective, the Hall of Fame is pleased to be able to join Brown and Enberg during the special salute to Tomlinson.

"We are excited and pleased to have this opportunity to recognize LaDainian as the league's 2006 MVP," offered Perry. "It's even more special with Hall of Famer Jim Brown, himself a two-time league MVP, being present. What a unique opportunity it is to be a part of an event that offers the best of yesterday and today."

In addition to recognizing the San Diego Chargers All-Pro running back for his outstanding 2006 season, the Hall of Fame will accept mementos from LaDainian that will be immediately placed on display in the museum in Canton commemorating his MVP performance.
