Zimmerman receives HOF ring
A packed Invesco Field at Mile High paid tribute to Gary Zimmerman. The tackle was formally enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 2 in Canton. Zimmerman is just the second long-time member of the Broncos organization to earn election to the Hall of Fame. Quarterback John Elway was inducted in 2004.
The presentation of the ring to Zimmerman by the Hall’s President/Executive Director Steve Perry marks the third of three symbols that represent membership into the Pro Football of Fame. Zimmerman received his gold Hall of Fame blazer during a special ceremony on the eve of his induction in Canton. His bronze bust was unveiled during the enshrinement ceremony and then placed on exhibit in the Hall of Fame gallery. Zimmerman’s bust was temporarily taken off display so it could be shipped to Denver for the ceremony on Sunday.
