Austin breaks Bob Hayes record
{GALLERY}Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin had the game of his career and the finest receiving performance in franchise history yesterday. The fourth-year wideout made his first NFL start on Sunday and responded with 10 catches for a team-record 250 yards including the game-winning catch in overtime to give the Cowboys a 26-20 win against the Kansas City Chiefs.
His 250 yards receiving broke the team record of 246 held by Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2009 enshrinee Bob Hayes. Austin had 153 yards receiving in the fourth quarter including a 59-yard TD reception that put the Cowboys ahead late in the game. He then hooked up with quarterback Tony Romo on a 60-yard touchdown pass play in overtime to give the Cowboys the victory.
Austin is the 21st player in NFL history to have 250 yards receiving in a game. He is only the 10th player ever to record 10 catches, 250 yards, and score two touchdowns in the same game. He is also the only one of that group to score the game-winner in OT.
