Woodson's wonderful '09 season

Green Bay Packers cornerback Charles Woodson had a memorable season in 2009 that resulted in him earning The Associated Press NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors. Now, his achievement will be preserved forever with the addition of his complete uniform to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s archives.

{GALLERY}The 12-year veteran tied for a league-high with nine interceptions which he returned for 179 yards and 3  TDs. In addition, he recorded 74 tackles, added two sacks, and forced four fumbles during the 2009 season.

Woodson, who earned 28 of 50 votes from a nationwide panel of media to win the AP Defensive Player of the Year Awards, fueled the Green Bay defense that finished second overall in defense while finishing first in interceptions, takeaways and turnover margin in ’09. Woodson is just the second Packer ever to win the award. Hall of Famer Reggie White was accorded the honor in 1998.

The Packers’ helmet, jersey, and pants worn by Woodson during this past season will be placed on display in the Hall of Fame’s NFL Today Gallery.
