John Bassin, an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, is battling from Stage 4 lung cancer. Through the efforts of Unity a Journey of Hope, a non-profit organization based in the Pittsburgh area that grants wishes to adults suffering from a life-limiting illness, Bassin was treated to a memorable visit to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Thursday. It was his hope to be able to tour the Hall with his children and grandchildren.

The 57-year-old Bassin from Waltersburgh, Penn., was joined on the trip by his daughters Toni and Tani along his four grandchildren Joel, Toymbae, Tyannah, and Marcus. Bassin was given a guided tour through the Hall of Fame. Then, the Hall of Fame's Curator Jason Aikens took the family behind the scenes into the archives.

Bassin was most excited by seeing Jack Lambert's shoes, the turf from Three Rivers Stadium, Joe Greene's complete uniform, and the shoes worn by Franco Harris. Aside from the tour, Bassin was treated to a gift card in the Hall of Fame store. The family also was provided with a hotel stay at the Canton Courtyard Marriott and a discounted meal at nearby Jerzee's restaurant.
