Senior Day attracts large crowd

The Pro Football Hall of Fame hosted the 11th Annual Senior Day on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011.
A crowd of 1,478 visitors, age 55-and-older, enjoyed free admission to the museum as part of the popular special event. In addition, they had the opportunity to participate in free general health screenings and visit informational booths on senior care provided by Aultman Health Foundation.
{GALLERY}Attendees toured the museum and also participated in several health screening that were set up throughout the Hall of Fame that included tests for cholesterol, triglycerides, blood sugar, body mass index, and blood pressure. There were also assessments available for diabetes risk, breast cancer risk, heart disease, and other helpful screenings.
Aultman provided "Ask an Expert" series for participants to interact with and discuss topics with a family physician, orthopedic doctor, dietitian, pharmacist, exercise physiologist, surgical oncologist breast surgeon, and medical oncologist cancer genetics.
Participants then were able to enjoy Johnnie's Bakery Cake, as well as coffee and tea provided by Emil's Catering. Those in attendance received a complimentary copy of the 2011 Official Pro Football Hall of Fame Yearbook, 10% discount in the Hall of Fame Store, and a souvenir provided by Aultman Health Foundation.
Museum docents shared special football presentations with guests about memorabilia from the Hall of Fame's collection.
Next year's Senior Day will be held in October on a date to be determined.
