George McAfee's shoes
Chicago Bears halfback George McAfee did just about everything a player can do with a football. He was an exceptional runner, a dangerous pass receiver and one of history’s finest kick returners. He also played defense. In addition to his versatility, McAfee also pioneered the use of low-cut shoes to boost his speed and increase his elusiveness because of his relatively slight build. On display is a pair of shoes that he wore during his brilliant game-breaking career with the Bears in the 1940s.
