Hall of Famers

{GALLERY}Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy, in honor of his recent election into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, has donated several artifacts from his career to the museum. Included in the prized gift were Kennedy’s 1993 Pro Bowl jersey, a pair of well-worn shoulder pads and a pair of cleats from his NFL career that spanned from 1990-2000.
Kennedy, one of the most dominant defensive tackles of his era, was a member of NFL’s 1990s All-Decade Team and was tabbed as a first- or second-team All-Pro five times. He was also voted to the Pro Bowl eight times, a Seahawks' record at the time of his retirement.
The ’93 Pro Bowl jersey now in the Hall’s possession came after perhaps the finest season of Kennedy’s career. Kennedy, despite his team’s woeful 2-14 record, was honored during the 1992 season as the NFL Defensive Player of the Year after he led all interior linemen with 14 sacks, registered a career best 92 tackles; forced four fumbles; recovered a fumble and batted down two passes.
Kennedy was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in February along with Jack Butler, Dermontti Dawson, Chris Doleman, Curtis Martin, and Willie Roaf.
The Class of 2012 will be formally enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, Aug. 4. Tickets and fan packages for the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival are on sale now. Tickets>>>
