Hall of Fame quarterback JOE MONTANA got back under center Tuesday, June 5 when he demonstrated Madden 13’s voice controlled gameplay for the Xbox 360 Kinect. Montana showed the new technology in front of a large crowd at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles which is the video game industry's biggest event.
Throughout his career Montana had been put into some high-pressured situations so when he stepped onto the stage in L.A. the Class of 2000 inductee was right at home. He took over the San Francisco 49ers’ offense that trailed the Seattle Seahawks, 9-7. The ball was spotted first-and-ten from the Seahawks 30-yard line with less than two minutes to play in the fourth quarter. In typical Montana fashion he audibled his way into the end zone and gave the 49ers the lead 13-9.

Speaking of JOHN MADDEN, he and former San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions head coach and current NFL Network personality Steve Mariucci held the 14th Annual "Battle of the Bay" Charity Bocce Tournament at the Campo di Bocce facility in Livermore, California on June 6.
This event has raised nearly $3.5 million for local and national charities since its inception in 1999. In recent years just a few of the beneficiaries have been: Peninsula Boys & Girls Club, Mariucci Family Foundation, Diabetic Youth Foundation, Easter Seals Kaleidoscope, Northern California Special Olympics, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and local High School Football Programs.
The exclusive charity event brings together professional athletes, celebrities, dignitaries, and business leaders to enjoy a fun day of bocce, world-class wines and Campo di Bocce's signature Italian cuisine. The mixer also provides top-tier networking opportunities and media coverage. On August 4, 2012, CURTIS MARTIN will be formally enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2012. With the countdown to Canton less than two months away, the legendary running back was on hand to talk with newyorkjets.com live at the Jets Partner Summit on Thursday, June 7. Jets Nation tuned in live to the exclusive show writing questions and comments to the Jets’ Facebook page, twitter account and website.
If you weren’t able to tune into the interview live you can check out the archived video below.
Martin will become the fifth long-time member of the Jets franchise and the 29th modern-era RB to be enshrined into the Hall. He retired as the fourth-leading rusher in NFL history with 14,101 yards and rushed for at least 1,000 yards in each of his first 10 seasons. That feat is an NFL record equaled only by one other running back, BARRY SANDERS, for most 1,000-yard seasons to start a career.
