The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Educational Outreach Program (EOP) was the recent recipient of the 2012 Teacher’s Favorite Award presented by Berrien Regional Education Service Agency (RESA). Berrien RESA hosted this Teacher's Favorite Awards to select the Best Content Providers for the 2011-12 school year. The winners are selected by educators from across the United States and Canada. In all, 340 votes were submitted from 25 states in the U.S. in addition to parts of Canada.
Berrien RESA has been listing content providers' programs since 2000. As the most comprehensive database of videoconference content providers, it has been used nationally since 2002. The Teachers' Favorite Awards program started in 2006 and runs annually in May.
This is the second year in a row that the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s videoconferencing programs have received this honor. During the 2011-12 school year the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s videoconferencing programs made 447 connections to more than 15,000 students across 32 states and Canada.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Educational Outreach Program is an integral part of the museum’s mission implementation strategy. It is through the creative programming of the educational programs that the Hall of Fame’s educational assets are provided to students across North America. It includes school field trips, videoconferencing, online resources, NFL Team outreach programs, video podcasts, special seminars, and teacher enrichment days. All aspects of the Hall’s educational program are designed to strengthen core curriculum knowledge and skills across key learning areas: the Arts, Geography, Health, History, Language Arts, Math and Science.
