Steven Jackson of the St. Louis Rams added 73 yards on just 9 carries in Week 15 to his career rushing total. With the yardage, he eclipsed the 10,000-yard mark for his career. The jersey he wore in the game against the Minnesota Vikings when he hit the milestone has been donated to the Hall of Fame. It arrived at the museum on Friday morning.
Jackson’s jersey includes the special Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 50 Years patch. The NFL and all 32 clubs celebrated the Hall of Fame’s 50th Anniversary by wearing the patches and featuring in-stadium tributes during Weeks 14 and 15.
The Rams’ runner is closing in on his eighth straight 1,000-yard season. If he reaches the plateau, he would join rare company as only the sixth player to achieve that feat.
Most Consecutive Seasons, 1,000 or More Yards Rushing
11 - Emmitt Smith
10 - Barry Sanders, Curtis Martin
8 - Thurman Thomas, LaDainian Tomlinson
