Mack’s 1969 jersey donated
Richard Amari’s mother shared a story with him as a teenager about her fifth grade teacher who happened to be the mother of Hall of Fame guard Tom Mack. Amari decided to write to Mack, who at the time was in the early part of his career with the Los Angeles Rams. Amari requested a jersey to which Mack obliged and sent the one he wore during the 1969 season. The jersey includes the NFL’s commemorative 50th Anniversary Season patch.
Amari recently decided the best place for his prized possession would be the Hall of Fame’s collection. So, more than four decades after Mack wore it, the jersey has been donated to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Amari (left in photo below) personally delivered the jersey and presented it to the Hall of Fame’s Collection Curator Jason Aikens on Dec. 27, 2012.
