{GALLERY}Hall of Famer Ray Guy was the final member of the Class of 2014 to visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame to perform a site survey in preparation for his Enshrinement in August. The former Oakland Raiders punter was in Canton on Tuesday to meet with staff to plan for the upcoming enshrinement.
Guy received a personal tour through the museum where he soaked in the history of football and saw artifacts worn by the heroes of the game who played before and after him. He shared stories not only from his career, but also his personal life including memories of his friendships with fellow Hall of Famers Sammy Baugh and Lou Groza. Guy also reminisced about Raiders longtime owner Al Davis and laughed when he explained how he tried for years to convince Davis to give him a pair of his iconic glasses.
The seven-time Pro Bowler was exhausted by the end of the day.
“It’s been an exciting day today. I got to learn a lot and meet a lot of great people and hopefully made great friends. Getting ready for the enshrinement and all this excitement has been an experience. I know what to expect now," said Guy.
His visit concluded with meetings with Hall of Fame staff members and interviews with the media.
Guy and his fellow Class of 2014 enshrinees – Derrick Brooks, Claude Humphrey, Walter Jones, Andre Reed, Michael Strahan and Aeneas Williams – will be formally enshrined into the Hall of Fame on Saturday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. ET.
