What a "Guy"
{GALLERY}The Pro Football Hall of Fame recently received a special package from Ray Guy. The Class of 2014 enshrinee, who achieved excellence through his punting game, sent mementos acquired throughout his career.
Included in the shipment is an Oakland Raiders jersey worn during his 14-year career with the team. During that span, he was named All-Pro six times.
Guy also sent several artifacts from his pre-NFL career such as his Southern Mississippi letterman jacket, the jersey and helmet worn during his college career (1969-1972), and his high school letterman jacket (1966-69).
Also in the collection is the jersey he wore during the 1973 Chicago All-Star Game. Guy was named MVP in that game after he kicked a 10-yard field goal and averaged 44.1 yards on nine punts in his team’s 14-3 loss to the undefeated NFL champion Miami Dolphins.
Guy’s artifacts will be placed on exhibit in a gallery dedicated to the Class of 2014.
