{GALLERY}Each of the 256 players selected in May’s 2014 NFL Draft participated in the annual NFL Rookie Symposium in Aurora, Ohio. The four-day program was capped by a tour of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton. The NFC drafted rookies visited the Hall on Wednesday, June 25 and the AFC draft picks on Saturday, June 28.
All the drafted players were welcomed by Hall of Fame President David Baker who delivered an inspirational presentation. Much of his talk centered on the values the Game such as perseverance, dedication, and teamwork and how those traits will serve the rookies well throughout life and long after football. The NFL hopefuls then embarked on a private tour of the museum and learned about the people and moments that have shaped the league into what it is today.
The day finished with a message from Class of 2014 enshrinee Aeneas Williams. The Hall of Fame defensive back preached the main message to “begin with the end in mind.” Williams, who starred for the Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals (1991-2000) and St. Louis Rams (2001-2004), gave the advice to stay focused on what is needed to have success on and off the field.
