Hall of Fame welcomes Patriot Project members
Members from the project, including four Congressional Medal of Honor and three Purple Heart Recipients, received a special behind-the-scenes tour of the museum. During their tour, many of them related to the values that are represented in the Hall of Fame.
"I really enjoyed it. It's inspirational. I think it can certainly associate with some of the values that we have in terms of inspiring kids to give their all and to try to achieve something above and beyond,” said Donald Ballard, a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient.
“It was amazing. There was almost too much to see. There is a lot put into it where they absolutely do that, they instill all the values and the integrity of all the players that are represented and why their represented as a Hall of Famer,” Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Leroy Petry shared. “I could spend at least three days looking at everything in this building. I was blown away at how it shares the same values that we represent as Medal of Honor recipients.”
The Hall of Fame has supported the military through initiatives such as the U.S. Army Award of Excellence, which highlights the achievements of student-athletes across the country by recognizing outstanding athletic achievement, excellence in academics and community engagement.
