HOF names new Chairman and Vice Chairman

Randall C. Hunt has been named Chairman of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Board of Trustees. He succeeds Thomas W. Schervish, who is stepping down after six years as Chairman. Hunt’s appointment was approved by the Board of Trustees at their annual meeting held in Canton during the recent Hall of Fame Weekend. The Trustees also announced the appointment of Dennis Nash as the Board’s Vice Chairman.

Hunt (right) joined the Hall of Fame’s Board of Trustees in 2002, and is a native of nearby Alliance, Ohio. He graduated magna cum laude in 1975 from the University of Mount Union, and earned his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1978. Hunt also starred as a defensive back on Mount Union’s football team.

“Randy has worked tirelessly to support and expand the Hall’s initiatives during his many years of service on the Board of Trustees,” Hall of Fame President David Baker shared. “I am confident that his leadership will have a profound impact on the success of the Hall of Fame especially in the next five years as we plan for the NFL’s centennial celebration.”

Hunt has served for 24 years as a managing partner for Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths, & Dougherty where he specializes in business/corporate law as well tax, real estate, and health care law. He has been recognized by Ohio Super Lawyers®, Best Lawyers in America® and was recently named Best Lawyers Akron Corporate Law “Lawyer of the Year” 2015.

“I am humbled and privileged to be elected Chairman of the Hall of Fame, in particular, I am blessed to follow a great leader and visionary, Tom Schervish,” Hunt stated. “I look forward to the opportunity to work with David Baker, his talented staff, my fellow Board Members, and the Stark County Community, as we collectively turn the Hall’s exciting vision and strategic plan into a reality.”

Active in his community, Hunt serves as the Chairman of the Board, Member of the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees at the University of Mount Union. He is the Immediate Past Chairman and member of the Executive Committee and Board of Trustees for the Stark Development Board; Past President of the Alliance Community Hospital Board of Trustees, Alliance Citizens Health Association Board of Trustees, and Greater Alliance Develop-ment Corporation; and the former Chairman of Stark State College.

Nash (left) joined the Hall of Fame’s Board of Trustees in 2007. He is the Co-Founder and CEO of The Kenan Advantage Group (KAG), North America’s largest tank transporter and logistics provider, delivering fuels, chemicals, industrial gasses and food products. The company produces sales in excess of $1.5 billion and employs over 9,000 individuals in 42 states and five Canadian provinces and territories.

Nash also currently serves as Vice Chairman of Ohio Governor John Kasich’s executive workforce board, and is a member of the Board of Directors for Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio and Dedicated Transport located in Cleveland, Ohio. He has also been instrumental in major fundraising efforts for Pathway Caring for Children, a nonprofit, Ohio-based organization devoted to providing treatment-oriented care for children and their families.

Also announced at the annual meeting was that longtime member Theodore V. Boyd has retired from the Board of Trustees.
